Creating Bootable Pen Drive through Windows 7 or Vista DVD
I recently needed to do this for my machines. I found some of the options for the purpose of creating a bootable flash disk as my laptop had stopped understanding a bootable CD or DVD. The best method I found over the internet is as follows. I copy this process as mentioned here.
bootable USB guide, here we assume that you are using either Vista or Windows 7 to create a bootable USB.
1. Insert your USB (4GB+ preferable) stick to the system and backup all the data from the USB as we are going to format the USB to make it as bootable.
2. Open elevated Command Prompt. To do this, type in CMD in Start menu search field and hit Ctrl + Shift + Enter. Alternatively, navigate to Start > All programs >Accessories > right click on Command Prompt and select run as administrator.
3. When the Command Prompt opens, enter the following command:
DISKPART and hit enter.
LIST DISK and hit enter.
Once you enter the LIST DISK command, it will show the disk number of your USB drive. In the below image my USB drive disk no is Disk 1.
4. In this step you need to enter all the below commands one by one and hit enter. As these commands are self explanatory, you can easily guess what these commands do.
SELECT DISK 1 (Replace DISK 1 with your disk number)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION 1
ACTIVE
FORMAT FS=NTFS
(Format process may take few seconds)
ASSIGN
EXIT
Don’t close the command prompt as we need to execute one more command at the next step. Just minimize it.
5. Insert your Windows DVD in the optical drive and note down the drive letter of the optical drive and USB media. Here I use “D” as my optical (DVD) drive letter and “H” as my USB drive letter.
6. Go back to command prompt and execute the following commands:
D:CD BOOT and hit enter. Where “D” is your DVD drive letter.
CD BOOT and hit enter to see the below message.
D:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt60 h:
(Where “H” is your USB drive letter)
7. Copy Windows DVD contents to USB.
You are done with your bootable USB. You can now use this bootable USB as bootable DVD on any computer that comes with USB boot feature (most of the current motherboards support this feature).
Note that this bootable USB guide will not work if you are trying to make a bootable USB on XP computer.
I am lost
I am lost, will you show me the way?
It is really hard to show your heart to someone else. Making it public is perhaps harder. But I guess, if you share something with someone else, you can also make it public. It is just a smaller step ahead then.
When I was a school boy I wanted to be a singer. I did not know what it meant then. But I was an ardent singer and would never leave a chance to sing anywhere. But gradually, shyness came and by the time I was in the middle of the teenage, I shrunk to almost singing for myself. Although, that desire remained for long and perhaps is still there lying somewhere.
Then I wished I could be a writer. The passion for fiction was so much that I had started writing. It was novice though for long. It culminated during the pre-graduation days when I wrote a few poems and a story based on my personal experiences. Then the ideological change came through Marxism and the ideals of materialism and rationalism. I believe the history of the world goes through phases of a person’s life as s/he grows up. So, the phase of Marxism and rationalism and materialistic and individualistic ideas passed through and I guess still remain to some extent in me as I face a post-modern, post-structural world where things are fast changing and you need to create a niche for yourself to have your identity marked.
There is a maze always around. If you don’t clear that maze soon before you, you will be lost. The incident of losing yourself can take place in many ways. It can be several types. An individual is made of several things. That is there are several aspects of a person’s character. When you know yourself, you know which parts are there with you and which are the ones that you are either lacking or missing.
You may be lost in just one way or may be you are lost in another way. I am lost in a particular way. And it is really very hard to describe it. So, I just leave it to you to, if you know me, you will know why I am lost.
Although very vague, this post is only for the record.

ज़ौक़-ए-नज़्ज़ा-ए-जमाल कहां ?
[ ज़ौक़ = delight/joy; जमाल = beauty]
